Horticulture
A small, dense, ornamental shrub growing up to 1m high with small pink star-shaped flowers. Grows in dappled shade or part sun, in a range of soils. The leaves have a high essential oil content and smell like aniseed when crushed.

Other use
A related species, Boronia heterophylla, is grown for its citrus -flavoured essential oil which is used in the food and drink industry
