Medicinal
Soap bush. Root decoctions used as a foot bath to treat ‘ground itch’. C. acuminata used as an emetic (Cherokee), the bark mixed with bark of Prunus serotina to lower fevers, and as a bark infusion alone to treat bowel problems.
