Nomenclature

Named for Francisco Franco, 16thC physician in the University of Seville, Physician to the King of Portugal, from Valencia. Born in Xativa, wrote on the medicinal use of snow and on contagious diseases. Authored: 'Tractado de la nieve y del uso della' (1569); 'De Peste' (?date); 'Libro de las enfermades contagiosas y la preservacion de ellas' (1568)
